the (anti mainstream) christmas gift

"so do you prepare any christmas presents for me?"

it was during weekly face time sessions with parents, while we discussed about christmas tree and stuffs, and i just happened to see few boxes wrapped in festivity.

the christmas gifts!

how do i miss them!
it reminds me to my childhood when i was filled with curiosity, wondering what might be inside those boxes. i would took a box, shook it, made a guess what might be inside, smelled it, made another guess, gave up, went to bed and pray that tomorrow is the 25th.

"of course. but you need to choose one."

"choose? i don't want to choose."

"what do you want then?"

"please don't buy me any shirts, pants, bags, accessories and stuffs. i don't want gadgets, or any electronic stuffs. i don't need something expensive, for that i can buy myself. what i want is something unique, something inexpensive and yet sincere and reflect the true meaning of christmas."

"fine. i'll cook your favourite salted fish with chilli. the gift fresh from oven!" said mom.

"fresh from oven? i don't want that! i want something that can be placed inside a box."

"i'll put your fish inside a box then."

"i want my present wrapped with christmas theme wrapping paper, and i'll open it after few days later."

"don't worry, the salted fish can wait for few days. i'll wrap it and put a ribbon too!"

oh well, now guess who would be having salted fish as christmas gift?

Merry Christmas! ❤
every kid dreams and hope lies under the christmas tree.
