i am still hungry

seven years in singapore.

most of my friends come and go, as tourist, or as foodies, or as friend - and then to be boyfriend.

"what is the best food in singapore", or "where do you eat the best chicken rice (or chilli crab, or laksa, or sambal stingray, or whatever you feel like it)" in singapore?

i am no expert. 
nor have i tried every single dish in this country

yet, maybe this list would guide you for your next culinary trip. not so expensive in price and the quality is there.

2017 list (the best for value so far):

chicken rice : tian tian hainanese chicken rice (maxwell foo centre), wee nam kee
laksa: 328 katong laksa
chilli crab : mellben seafood, jumbo, uncle leong
american bbq ribs: jerry's grill
indian food: sammy's curry (dempsey hill)
japanese ramen: keisuke tonkotsu king, keisuke tonkotsu king four seasons, santouka ramen, ippudo
japanese tonkatsu: saboten, ma maison, tonkichi
korean bbq: k.cook, wang dae bak
sushi: koh grill sushi and bar (go there for shiok maki), standing sushi bar
chinese dim sum: din tai fung
chinese pork ribs soup (bak kut teh): song fa, ng ah shio
hainanese curry rice: beo crescent curry rice
brunch: arteastique mandarin gallery, providore mandarin gallery
hotel buffet: triple three at mandarin orchard
asian dessert: mei hong yuen
korean fried chicken : guksu. chir chir is good too.
korean stew: massizim
coffee: i don't drink coffee, sorry.
tea: arteastique, TWG
cakes: the patissiere at mohammed sultan
salted egg chicken: susan chan, new station snack bar.
salted egg snacks: irvins ftw
cream puff: chatessiere
thai food: porn's, thai tantrik
chinese hotpot: shabu sai. ha di lao is awesome, but there are too many adds on. 
burger: fatboy
indian butter chicken: prata wala
indonesian smashed chicken: ayam penyet ria
indonesian noodle: j-town
hokkian mee: the one in vivo city's food court
street snacks: old chang kee
